The Tsechu is a festival in honour of Padmasambhava"one who was born from a lotus flower" popularly known under the name of Guru Rinpoche the precious teacher. In order that Bhutan can rejoice in continued happiness, many scholar Lama established the Tradition of the dances. Through their power and benediction, all misfortunate may be annihilated, luck increased all wishes realize. Shabdrung Ngaadang Namgyel(1594-1651) , the mighty lord of the religion of the drukpa School, was the protector of all beings in Bhutan. In conformity with the tantric teachings he composed dances.During Tsechus the dances are performed by monks as well as laymen. Th Tsechu is religios festival and by attending it it is believed one gain virtual merits. It is also a social gathering where the people come together to rejoice dressed in all their finery.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive in Thimpu, 65 Kms/2hrs.O/n Hotel.
upon arrival we will receive you at Airport, provide Lunch at Locally owned restaurant after Lunch drive to Thimpu.

Day 02 : In Thimpu
After B/F, drive to the Tashicho -Dzong where the Tsechu is being celebrated, witness the festival entire day. Dance of Black Hats( Shana / Ngachamp), Dance of the Noble man and Ladies(phole Mole), Dance of the drum beaters, from dramitse( Dramitse Ngachum), Dance of the Stag and the hounds(shawa Shachi), Evening Thimpu Exploration, Visit memorial chorten and market Place.

Day 03 : In Thimpu
After B/F observe last day celebration of Festival sight seeing , view dance of Lord of cremation ground DURDAG, dance of terrifying deities TUNGAM, Dance of Ghost and judgment, of the dead, dance of Lord of cremation grounds DURDAG, Five dance of Ging Tsholing, dance of the eight manifest tions of Guru Rinpoche( Guru Tshen Gyel).

Day 04 : Thimpu to HGangtey Gompa, O/N Hotel.
After B/F, TRANSFER TO Gangtey Gompa via Dochula Pass, from where you can enjoy the beautiful view of Eastern Himalaya Range, we visit the Phobijikha valley that is the winter home of black neck crane.

Day 05 : Gangtey Gompa-Wangdi to Punakaha O/N Hotel.
After B/F, transfer to Wangdi, visit Dzong and sightseeing around, Late Visit Punakaha Dzong, which is winter home of JE KHENPO( The Chief Abbot).

Day 06 : Punakha -Paro O/N Hotel.
After B/F, drive to paro, enroute visit Simtokha Dzong, Lunch at Thimpu, continue drive to Paro.

Day 07 : In Paro, O/n Hotel.
Breakfast and drive to Drukyel Dzong, on the way back have bird eye view of Taktsang Monastery and visit Kyichu Lhakhang. Afternoon visit National Museum where you can see collection of ancient arts and crafts and visit Paro Rinpong Dzong.

Day 08 : Transfer to Airport, final departure Tashidhele & Nmaste!
