Pushkar, festival held every during October-November, near Ajmer. Thousands of pilgrims come to bathe in the holy waters of te Pushkar Lake. Itinerary
Day 01: Delhi
Transfer from Delhi Airport to your hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
Full day sightseeing of the capital of India, built on the remains of not less than eight historical cities... In Old Delhi, visit the Jama Masjid and Red Fort ; Humayoun's Tomb, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar in New Delhi.
Day 03-04: Jaipur
Leave for the "Pink City" of Jaipur, and visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of winds) and the Observatory of Jantar Mantar. Trip and elephant ride in Amber Fort; excursion to Sanganer village, a major center for local handicraft.
Day 05 to 07: Pushkar Camel Fair
The renowned Camel Fair takes place every year in Pushkar, a holy Hindu city. Farmers and camel traders come from all over Rajasthan to purchase and sell camels and other products. Enjoy related events, such as cattle decoration, horse and camel racing, dance shows, competitions between Rajasthani and tourists...
Around the city, you can visit its bathing ghats on the lake and its temples (Brahma Temple, Savitri Temple, Pap Mochani). In Ajmer, you may visit the ancient shrine of Moinuddin Chisthi, the Persian priest who introduced Islam in India.
Accommodation can be provided in a palace or in tents, in a Swiss camp set especially for the occasion.
Day 08-10: Ranthambore
Ranthambore has long been a royal hunting reserve for Maharajas. Converted into a huge wildlife sanctuary, it shelters around twenty or thirty tigers, and many other predators, deers, monkeys, birds...
Enjoy a few jeep safaris with a forest guide (at early morning and afternoon).
Accommodation in hotels or luxury tents.
Day 11: Agra
Drive via the ghost city of Fathepur Sikri to Agra, former Mughal capital city. Visit Red Fort and Taj Mahal, built in white marble and inlaid with semi-precious stones.
Day 12: Drive back to Delhi. Ont Hotel.
