The region north of Katmandu offers
a multitude of Trekking destination, all accessible
without flights. There main region are Langtang Valley,
Gosikunda Lake and Helambu Circuit that can be combined
in many different ways to make treks from seven to
sixteen days long. Langtang is a narrow valley that
lies just below the main Himalayan range to the north
Tibet Border and a slightly lower range snowy peak
to the south. A visit to the Langtang valley offers
an opportunity to explore Tibetan villages, Tamang
Villages, to climb small peaks and to visit glaciers
at a comfortably low elevation. According to legend
A Lama following a runaway Yak discovered the valley.
Hence the name is Lang is Tibetan for yak and Tank
means to fellow. Still thousand of Yaks lives in the
valley. Kanjin Gompa is a last Tibetan Village in
the valley, from where a track starts to Kathmandu
over Ganja La Pass (5106M). The pass it self not easy,
during autumn and spring pass opens for trekkers.
A trek Over Ganjala pass offers entirely wilderness
and adventure experience. If you are trekking during
spring the forest on the trail is colorful of blooming
Rhododendrons views from Ganjala Pass is Majestic
to the main Himalaya outstanding the views of Mt.
Shisha Pangma (80013m), Langtang Lirung (7200m) in
Tibet. Trail between Kanjingompa to Tarke gyang is
very isolated, remote and wilderness.
