Suggested Itinerary
Day 01 : Fly to Gongar Airport, drive to Tsedang
alt 3500 M/dis 97 kms/ 2 hrs
Arrive Gongar Airport. Transfer to Tsedang along the in
Yarlung Valley. Check in to Tsedang Hotel.
Day 02 : Explore Tsedang
and its surround O/N Hotel. After Breakfast, drive to after
returned we visit tombs of Tibetan King's located in the
choynge country, includes tombs from 29th to 40 th Tsenpo,
and their minister and imperial and concubines In the afternoon;
we visit YAMBHU Laganag Temple, TRADUK temple and other
ancient Monasteries.
Day 03 : Tsedang- Gyantse
(4040 M), 350 kms, 7hrs drives O/n Hotel. Drive to Gyantse
via Gongar enjoying Tibetan features on the way, en route
visit Lake Yamdroktso which can be seen from Kanbala Pass
at 4794 Mtrs. The turquoise water of this coiling Scorpion
-shaded lake is one of the four holy Lakes in Tibet, and
an important destination for pilgrimage. Far in distance
is the large snow -capped Mt. Naquin Kangsar 7191 m, continue
drive to Karola Pass 5050 M and check the Hotel.
Day 04 : Gyantse to
Shigatse 3600 M/90 Kms / 2hrs drive O/n Hotel. After
B/F visit Pacho Monastery, drive to Shigatse via Shalu Monastery
check in Hotel, and visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, Shigatse
free market. shigatse is Tibet's second largest city
Day 05 : Shigatse -Lhasa
365 kms/7-8hrs O/n Hotel. After B/F take a quick visit to
Tashilhunpo Monastery, drive to Lhasa along northern Highway
check in Hotel.
Day 06 : In Lhasa
Today will be spent visiting several of Lhasa's many monasteries
in the company of a guide-interpreter. One of these is the
Sera Monastery, one of the best preserved monasteries in
Tibet. Within it's white-washed walls and golden roofs,
several hundred monks live and study.After lunch we'll visit
the Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, as
well as the Jokhang Temple. This temple is the most sacred
shrine in Tibet and there is always a procession of devout
Tibetans through the complex. Surrounding the Jokhang is
the Barkor - a maze of narrow cobbled streets which is the
central market of Lhasa.
Day 07 : In Lhasa
This morning we visit the Potala Palace which dominates
the city of Lhasa. A spectacular building, it contains the
private quarters of the Dalai Lama as well as numerous grand
state rooms and many important chapels. There has been a
palace on this site since the 5th or 6th century, but the
present palace was constructed in the 17th century.A visit
to the Drepung Monastery this afternoon will complete a
truly awe-inspiring day. Founded in the 14th century, this
monastery was once the largest in the world. With a population
of around 10,000 monks. These days that figure is down to
several hundred, but there is still much here of interest
as it was left relatively unscathed during the Cultural
Revolution.
Day 08 : An early morning
transfer to Airport to fly to Chengdu, Kunming or Beijing.
